2nd Grade

Welcome to Our 2nd Grade Program

 

This is an exciting time in your child’s academic career. We have an exciting year ahead that will be filled with lots to explore, experience, and learn! We hope to be a guide and mentor to your child this year as they embark on a learning journey filled with excitement, challenges, and many learning opportunities.

Daily classes include Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies and daily Physical Education. We also have weekly library, art, music, and technology is integrated into daily lessons.

Please see the links on the right to view the Illinois State Common Core Standards.  These are the standards that your student will be covering during the school year.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to talk to the classroom teachers before/after school or send us an e-mail.

Building Confidence and Independence

Second grade is an exciting year where students strengthen foundational skills while becoming more independent thinkers. Through engaging lessons, collaborative activities, and meaningful challenges, students continue to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Our supportive environment encourages every child to build confidence and develop a lifelong love of learning.
