Free Lunches for our Students

On Monday, August 31st, 2020, the USDA announced that they will extend several flexibilities from September 1, 2020, through as late as December 31, 2020. The flexibilities allow Summer Meal Program operators to continue serving free meals to all children into the fall months. This means that lunch is provided at NO COST to any student age 18 and under. This became effective on September 1, 2020.

How to Order A Lunch Meal

Due to additional support during Covid-19 from the USDA, Union Ridge will continue offering free meals to all students. Using this link, https://forms.gle/FnZfm1HTyRTY174ZA, please select the days your child plans to participate in the meal program. This selection will act as your meal order form. Orders are to be completed two weeks in advance, to ensure that your child’s selection will be available  upon the day of pickup. 

All meals will be sent home with students or can be picked up by parents on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Each meal kit will include breakfast and lunch for either 2 days of meals on Tuesdays or 3 days of meals on Thursdays. Below is the set pick up schedule:

Pickup Times for the Kindergarten program:

Hybrid Learning

A.M. class    11:00 a.m.

P.M.  class   12:35 p.m.

Remote Learning

A.M. class    11:00 a.m.

P.M.  class   12:35 p.m.

Pickup Times for Grades 1-8 are as follows:

Hybrid Learning

Grades 1-2      1:00 p.m.

Grades 3-5      1:15 p.m.

Grades 6-8      1:30 p.m.

Remote Learning

Grades 1-2      1:15 p.m.

Grades 3-5      1:30 p.m.

Grades 6-8      1:45 p.m.

Lunch Program After December 31st, 2020

Union Ridge School participates in the National School Lunch Program. Breakfast costs $2.35 to $2.45 per day for a variety of light items such as muffins, cereals, fruit, and milk, hot lunch costs $3.50 to $3.60 per day. Students approved for reduced price meals pay 30 cents per day for breakfast, and 40 cents per day for lunch. Breakfasts/Lunches are pre-ordered on a monthly basis. 

Breakfast begins at 8:10 a.m. for middle school students (grades 6-8) and 8:35 a.m for (K-5) students. On Wednesdays, breakfast begins at 8:35 a.m. for all students. Students will not be able to leave the building once they arrive for breakfast.
