Instructure ( Canvas LMS) Cybersecurity Incident

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff,
We are writing to inform you of a recent situation involving a potential data security incident related to our use of the Instructure (Canvas) learning management system.

At this time, we have been notified of a possible unauthorized access event involving certain user data within the platform. While the investigation is ongoing, we want to be transparent and proactive in communicating what we currently know. 

Based on the information available at this time, the data that may have been affected could include limited account information such as names, email addresses, and course-related data. There is no indication at this time that sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, government identifiers, or financial data was involved.

Upon learning of this issue, we immediately began working with Instructure to:
Investigate the scope and cause of the incident
Secure all affected systems
Confirm what information, if any, may have been accessed

We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

While there is no evidence of misuse of information at this time, we recommend that families and staff remain vigilant by:

• Monitoring account activity for any unusual behavior
• Being cautious of unsolicited emails or communications requesting personal information
