Welcome to 4th Grade!
Dear Fourth Grade Families,
It is my pleasure to welcome you and your children to my fourth grade classroom. I hope you had a great, fun-filled summer and are super excited to be back.
Many of you are already familiar with me. For those of you who are not, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from North Park University and completed my Master’s Degree in ESL Instruction at Concordia University. I speak English and Polish and experience both cultures with great pleasure. This is my seventh year with the Union Ridge family.
I am very excited for this school year! Our classroom environment will be that of action, participation, and hands-on investigation. There will be a lot of learning going on, and I will expect all my students to be prepared, involved, and make school their priority. That, in part, will involve completing homework and turning it in on time. I believe homework is a great way to reinforce the skills learned at school. Please expect to have daily assignments in math and language arts, as well as two-three times per week in science and social studies. In addition, be sure to set aside at least thirty minutes of independent A.R. reading time every day.
With that in mind, I invite you to join my efforts to make this school year a wonderful experience for all. Working together, we will assure that every child feels free to become all they can be and receives best education possible. I truly believe in communication and teamwork between teachers and parents. I will do my best to keep you informed and invite you to share your questions and concerns via written note, phone, or e-mail.
More information about the fourth grade routines will be provided during the Open House night. I am looking forward to meeting you then.
