Class Schedule/Arrival and Dismissal Procedures for first few weeks

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR AM SESSION: Thursday, August 22, 2019

AM class note: For the first few weeks (Aug. 23-Sept. 9) of school, you (or guardian) will be walking with your child into the classroom.  You may park in the front lot and on streets and come around to the North doors (exterior door # 21), where we will assemble before entering. After the first shortened weeks, follow the standard procedures below.  The first few weeks of A.M. preschool are shortened to allow for an easier transition, from 9:05 until 10:30 A.M.   After that, on Monday, September 9th, regular hours (see attached) resume.

Morning program (if you are walking):
Children enter the building through the North doors (exterior door # 21 off of the staff parking lot).  The staff parking lot is for teacher parking only!  Do not park nor walk through there!  You may park in the south lot instead.
You must walk through the school playground area to access the North door entrance – not through the parking lot!  Please drop off your child within the fenced area.  In order to keep track of our students, parents are required to immediately leave once the students are in line with the teacher.  Teachers will assemble the students into the indoor waiting area (exterior door # 21), until all have arrived.

Morning program (if you are driving – valet line):
Valet line will begin Monday, September 9th (you will walk your child into the classroom for the first few weeks-see attached note). Use the North parking lot (follow the arrows in the u-shaped valet line).  Keep your child in the car and make sure your child is ready to leave the car as the teachers take your child.  Do not exit the car yourself – we take the child from the car!  Also, please arrange to have your child’s car seat at the passenger side for safety.  We will then walk the child into the area where they will line up and enter the school building.
Due to kindergarten student arrivals, early childhood students will not be permitted in the valet line before 9:05 A.M. for the morning class.  Teachers and assistants will begin taking children from cars at 9:05 A.M.

DISMISSAL:
 
Teachers and assistants will first dismiss students one by one to walking parents waiting in pick-up area (by exterior door # 15). Once walkers are dismissed, the remaining students will be dismissed to waiting cars in the valet line (North parking lot). Students are walked by their teachers into indoor waiting area (door # 21 ); teachers will then walk students, one-by-one into their awaiting cars.  When strapping your child into his/her car seat, please pull forward and over by the side-rail in the parking lot so that the car line continues to move in a quick and efficient manner.

REMEMBER, FOR SAFETY REASONS, NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO WALK THROUGH THE PARKING LOT – WE WILL WALK YOUR CHILD TO A WAITING CAR.  WALKERS NEED TO WALK THROUGH THE PLAYGROUND AREA, NOT THE PARKING LOT!
